Lecture on Monday, 10 December: Central Asian historical documents: types and peculiarities
Time: 15:15-17:00 hrs
Venue: M. de Vrieshof 4, Room 007
The manuscript collection of the Al-Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies in Tashkent, Uzbekistan contains a large quantity of historical documents in Persian, Turkic and Arabic drafted on the territory of the Central Asian khanates. These include legislative documents (decrees, orders, and instructions), private legal documents (documents concerning sales, wills, marriage certificates, deeds of gift, leases, mortgages, waqf promissory notes), clerical documents (orders, notices, and petitions), and other legal documents.

Masterclass on Wednesday, 12 December: Manuscripts of mixed content - Miscellany, Varia: who were their customers and why were they created?
Time: 9:30-12:00 hrs
Venue: Lipsius, Room 001
Manuscripts containing large and small fragments from various works are usually recorded in catalogues in the sections «Miscellany», «Miscellanea» or “Manuscripts of mixed content”. In the manuscript catalogues published in the Soviet period, the term «Varia was preferred. In general, western catalogues provide a more detailed description of all contents of such collections. As a result, even small fragments and author names are reflected in the indexes. On the contrary, in many Central Asian catalogues, the structure of the collections is described shortly, frequently superficially in the section «Varia». Thus titles and author names have been omitted. It is clear that the description of such collections (identification of their compositions, author information, copies of epistolary sources, various records, etc.) requires a lot of time and effort on behalf of the cataloger. Yet, these collections can contain valuable information, which cannot be found in other sources.

Lecture on Thursday, 13 December: On a type of administrative documents of the Bukharan Emirate issued by the late Manghit rulers: letters – orders. What changes have occurred in the external attributes and in the internal form of the documents?
Time: 13:15-15:00 hrs
Venue: M. de Vrieshof 2, Room 002
Orders and decrees of governors (khans, emirs) are of great value within the Central Asian archival materials. Traditionally, these types of documents are known as yarliq. The majority of the yarliqs have an extraordinary external form and were written eloquently. But there are also exceptions, which offer new research possibilities. In the decrees and orders of the Bukharan emirs issued in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th centuries, we can observe changes both in the external and in the internal form of the documents. Therefore, certain Bukharan decrees have been referred to as "Letter -order" instead of "yarliq". The governor’s seal has an important place on the yarliq.Usually, they were imprinted in the top right corner of the document, near the initial lines of the text. In the orders of the Bukharan Emirate, issued by late Manghit rulers, the seals were imprinted on the verso side of the document.

Rossiyaning Sankt-Peterbrug shahrida, asov Neva daryosi sohilida Rossiya Fanlar akademiyasining Sharq qo`lyozmalari instituti joylashgan. Bu dargohda O`zbekistondan keltirilgan yoxud o`zbek xalqining boy madaniy merosiga taalluqli o`nlab bebaho qo`lyozmalari saqlanadi. Ulardan biri milodiy VIII asrda arab alifbosining ko`fiy-hijoziy xatida ko`chirilgan Qur`oni karim nusxasidir. Qo`lyozmaning bir nechta sahifasi O`zbekistonda, Qashqadaryo viloyatida, Toshkert va Buxoro shaharlarida saqlanmoqda. Qolgan sahifalar qaerda ekani ayni paytgacha noma`lumligicha qolayotir.
Ma`lumotlarga ko`ra, bu kitob bir paytlar Qashqadaryo viloyatining Qamashi tumanidagi Katta Langar qishlog`ida, tasavvufdagi Ishqiya tariqati shayxlari xonaqohida saqlangan. Shu bois ushbu qo`lyozma ilmiy jamoatchilik orasida “Katta Langar Qur`oni” nomini olgan. Kitobning katta qismi – 81 sahifasi qanday qilib Rossiyaga borib qolgani haqida ham turli-tuman taxminlar mavjud. U Sharq qo`lyozmalari institutiga o`tgan asrning 30-yillari oxirida keltirilgan.
Keyingi yillarda bir qator olimlarning ilmiy izlanishlari, zamonaviy tekshiruvlar natijasida O`zbekiston va Rossiyada saqlanayotgan sahifalar aynan bitta qo`lyozmaning tarkibiy qismlari ekani, ular chindan ham bundan 13 asr muqaddam ko`chirilgani aniqlandi. Mutaxassislar fikricha, u Qur`oni karimning Islom olamidagi eng qadimiy va mo``tabar nusxalaridan biri hisoblanadi.
2017 yilda “O`zbekiston madaniy merosi dunyo to`plamlarida” loyihasi doirasida Evropa texnologiyalari asosida “Katta Langar Qur`oni”ning faksimile nusxalari yaratildi. Mazkur nusxalar o`tgan vaqt davomida mamlakatimizdagi bir qator ilmiy va diniy muassasalarga tarqatildi.
Ushbu nusxalardan bir nechtasi “O`zbekiston madaniy merosi – Xalqlar va mamlakatlar o`rtasidagi muloqotga yo`l” Ikkinchi xalqaro kongressi doirasida Sankt-Peterburgga keltirildi. Ulardan biri qo`lyozmaning asl nusxasi saqlanayotgan Sharq qo`lyozmalari institutiga sovg`a qilindi.
– Bir qarashda bu biroz g`alati tuyulishi mumkin, - deydi loyiha rahbari, O`zbekiston Elektron ommaviy axborot vositalari Milliy assosiasiyasi raisi Firdavs Abduxoliqov. – Avvalo bu ushbu nodir qo`lyozmadan nusxa olish imkonini bergan institut rahbariyatidan minnatdorligimiz ifodasi. Qolaversa, mazkur qo`lyozmani tadqiq qilmoqchi bo`lgan olim va mutaxassislar uchun faksimile nusxasi juda qo`l keladi. Asl nusxa esa, instittning bebaho xazinasi sifatida daxlsizligicha qolishi lozim.
O`zbekistondan borgan delegasiya a`zolari institutga shuningdek, O`zbekistondagi madaniy yodgorliklar va ulardagi bitiklar haqda hikoya qiluvchi “O`zbekiston obidalaridagi bitiklar” kitob-albomlar to`plami tuhfa qilindi.
— O`zbekistonga oid qo`lyozmalarni haqiqiy ma`noda institumizning faxri deb ayta olamiz, – deydi Rossiya Fanlar akademiyasi Sharq qo`lyozmalari instituti direktor Irina Popova. – O`zbekiston hukumati va ilmiy jamoatchiliining o`z xalqi madaniy merosini tadqiq etishga qaratilgan tashabbus va harakatlari tahsinga loyiq. Bizning institutimiz eshiklari o`zbekistonlik mehmonlar, tadqiqotchilar, olimlar uchun hamisha ochiq. Siz bilan hamkorlik qilishdan hamisha mamnuniyat hissini tuyamiz.
Sankt-Peterburgda o`tayotgan “O`zbekiston madaniy merosi – xalqlar va mamlakatlar o`rtasidagi muloqotga yo`l” Ikkinchi xalqaro kongressi doirasida mazkur ilmiy dargohda “Sharq qo`lyozmalari institutida Sharq kitobat san`atining nodir durdonalari” nomli ko`rgazma ham tashkil etildi. Ko`rgazma ishtirokchilariga “Katta Langar Qur`oni”ning asl nusxasi sahifalari, Abu Rayhon Beruniyning “Qadimgi xalqlardan qolgan yodgorliklar”, Alisher Navoiyning “Kullliyoti”, “Lisonut-tayr”, “Vaqfiya” singari asarlari, Samarqand, Buxoro, Xiva, Qo`qon singari shaharlarimizda yaratilgan kitobat san`atining nodir namunalari namoyish etildi.
